Garlic and Shots: Garlic & Shots, found on Firth Street, does exactly what it says in the name. Every dish has lots of garlic in it and they have over a hundred different kinds of shots to try. Once again, its the atmosphere that makes it so special. Real service with attitude from tattoo laden waitresses, heavy metal serenading you and black death vodka as the house drink. I can safely say it is the only restaurant I have been to where the meal was interrupted by a group sing along to Guns 'n Roses's Sweet Child of Mine.

The only warning is that when they say garlic they mean it. So, if you have any objection to it then stay away. However, if you are a garlic fan bring a breath mint and try the meatballs. Garlic & Shots has Swedish ancestry and we all know the Swedes know a thing or two about balls.

The Intrepid Fox: The Intrepid Fox is the kind of pub that scares normal people when they walk past. The low ceiling is made even lower by the dangling cobwebs and the walls are papered with horror film posters. The loud hard music and the authentically ghoulish bar staff give the small venue a real atmosphere. On Halloween the Intrepid Fox can't be beat for the seasonal feel. This is especially true as it goes largely uncelebrated in the UK. After all, it is very much an American holiday. It gets very crowded that night but it is also very much worth it.  

Janus: Those of you of the BDSM persuasion most likely have already heard of Janus Magazine. Well, on Old Compton street the Janus shop can be found. So, if you are into the kind of stuff that Janus publishes than drop in. 

Sister Rays: Sister Rays, on Berwick Street, is a record shop with a large selection of gothic music.
